Don’t wait to weigh in on new rules being cooked up

The Sunriver Rules & Regulations Update Task Team has been working behind closed doors cooking up a mess of new and revised rules to impose on unsuspecting Sunriver owners. Click this link Sunriver Rules & Regulations to download and review the current rules.

The “official” SROA owner involvement process is frankly a sham. Take a look at the Task Team web page.

The “Agendas” have never been posted in a timely manner, which doesn’t really matter because meetings aren’t open to owners anyway.

However, in the November 12 and December 9 agendas you can review the text of some proposed changes and new rules.

The “Meeting Notes” are mostly formulaic “boilerplate” with no substantive information on the deliberations by the task team members.

The “Owner Comments” aren’t kept up to date and are very sparse. The paucity of comments is not surprising because, without any attempt on the SROA website to provide owners with timely and coherent information about proposals, owners lack a solid footing to provide informed, relevant opinions.

What can we do?

A) Subscribe to this blog. In early January, I’ll post a “Guide to Proposed Changes to the Sunriver Rules & Regulations.”

B) Email your opinions to infosroa@srowners.org . Be sure to begin with “Please submit this message to the Rules & Regulations Task Team and post online.”

C) Email the SROA Board at infosroa@srowners.org (or click here to use the online form) and urge them to open up this process to allow owners to attend meetings or view You Tube videos of the meetings and begin meetings with an opportunity for owners to make comments.
